SentinelOn uses the principle of Ownership to ensure control, access and integrity for many data elements. For example, a project owner fully controls the data elements, functions and attachments within the project. The owner can designate specific Read or Write permission to users with lesser roles. The owner can designate sub-ownership for certain components, e.g. project phases and control activities. Phase owners are therefore permitted to make task assignments within their phases. Similar permissions can be granted at other levels and within other SentinelOn components.

SentinelOn uses a variety of filter controls to ensure proper access to components and data. These include a primary control by ownership to SentinelOn components, e.g. projects, and the attributes and data elements within the designated component.

SentinelOn Administrators have unrestricted component and data access.

Certain individuals may have roles that grant them SentinelOn-wide data access at the Read Only level. This level of access may be used for certain executives and critical positions, e.g. Internal Audit and Compliance.

Assignments are made by owners and authorized users only. Assignments can be made to one or more individuals. Some components allow assignment by Position, allowing all persons with the specific position to receive assignment notification.

Assignment notification includes Dashboard notification and email with direct access to SentinelOn.

Assignments are monitored by component owners, e.g. Phase owner.

Assignments can be scheduled in advance with designated lead times.

Assignment status is updated by assignee(s) and by SentinelOn’s Risk Manager based on schedules and status.
